Love For What's Real
03:52
|
|||
I face this horizon with the sun coming up turn the sky into rust
I’m still in this mine pushing numbers and lines but I work cuz I must
history yields to a conscious that one sacrifice is enough
The blood on this page serves me right cuz I’ve saved up too much emptiness
And everything in Nature has it
Everything in nature has it’s own will
Like my love for what’s real In these times I’m alone
with a heart too feel and a mind to know
And what’s left here to chance If our fates never wrong
Meant to rise up against or go along
So what if I turned towards the place in the heart that we all fear the most
Where nothing is sacred kills the sinners and saints haunts the past like a ghost
And what can they ask of you if you’re still tied to the pain from below
Where all of your life can be lost to the past in the end you will know
And everything in Nature has it
Everything in nature has it’s own will
Like my love for what’s real In these times I’m alone
with a heart too feel and a mind to know
And what’s left here to chance If our fates never wrong
Meant to rise up against or go along

Once Before
05:39
|
|||
Here am I not equal to, the will I might of had
Had I not had seen in you, the place where I began
As helpless as the day you were born, like soul in the schoolyard
Where everything that's to become has happened once before
And some will say that time is like a wheel
Turning around and around
Tomorrow it's all surreal
But time is a straight line against your will
Never again to be found, never again to feel
And you build your life on the graves of the forgotten
And you're justified by the things that they might have done
And a thousand years will pass by like one moment and turn this wood to stone
And everything that ever was has happened once before
And some will say that time is like a wheel
Turning around and around
Tomorrow it's all surreal
But time is a straight line against your will
Never again to be found, never again to feel
The soul, It lives through the body
To live on tomorrow, it lives on today
Here am I not equal to, the will I might of had
Had I not had seen in you the place where I began

To Dream of Another Life
03:58
|
|||
The dreams that will come to you when you’re wide open
To let them into your mind happens more often times
Not while you’re waiting no not while you’re waiting for anything
And we’ve all got a story of some happy ending
Like the man who lived next to the man who lost everything
And outside these games we play does loosing or winning mean anything
The sun shines today
And God is in the garden
As I lie awake
And dream of another life
Back in 1718 I lost all my hope then
I was drowned in this river and brought back to life again
For all I know now I will die on the day I find hope again
Because the devil here worships just one man’s religion
with a shadow cast over the light that may reach him
you show me an angel and I’ll show you a devil that follows him
The sun shines today
And God is in the garden
As I lie awake
And dream of another life
And above the door I found keys that were left behind
To hold back the fear that I lock myself in behind
And outside this room I will find some new fear I can hide behind
And if we all started over with just one new decision
That was made for the sake of or in spite of my living here
And for all I know now I will question the truth
From the meaning I’ve found for all that I can do
When the sun shines today
And God is in the garden
As I lie awake
To dream of another life

My Station
04:14
|
|||
When you’re out there where that highway ends
When the meaning’s gone and the truth begins
You can learn some things from the messages
From the ones that came before you
You can close your eyes while you’re listening
You can hear the sky while the birds sing
And you can lose yourself in your memories
From the way it was before
So I’m leaving, my station
For a chance to be happy, because here I’m fading
You can numb yourself when your hearts afraid
And you can wear the pain like a masquerade
And you can learn some things from the face you save
Well I guess they’ll never know you
And you can lose the taste for your own success
Or you can smell the roses that compliment
Or you can learn to trust in your own sixth sense
Well I guess you’ve always known it
So I’m leaving, my station
For a chance to be happy, because here I’m fading
Into the distance
You can close your eyes while you’re listening
You can hear the sky while the birds sing
Or you can lose yourself in your memories
From the way it was before
So I’m leaving, my station
For a chance to be happy, because here I’m fading
Into the distance

Meaningless Heart
04:20
|
|||
Well I guess I was mistaken that you were someone that I wanted to know but you were just a stepping stone, but I let you make that decision and it’s the very thing that pissed me off, Cuz I want to be the one who’s in control
And habits die hard otherwise; you’d be alone the rest of your life
and find the bottom of this meaningless heart
And I swear I’m not going to meet anyone and by the time I’ve been around the world I would have learned a little more, and then I feel this strange affinity that puts me back in love again like I’ve never been before
And habits die hard otherwise; you’d be alone the rest of your life
and find the bottom of this meaningless heart
And someone else has taken your place and you have taken someone else’s and you are not the only one
And someone else has taken my place and I have taken someone else’s and I have only just begun
And in this world of dying roses there’s a fear to finally be alone until you learn to start again, and you believe your own deception and it haunts you with the things you’ve done cuz you may never love again
And habits die hard otherwise; you’d be alone the rest of your life
and find the bottom of this meaningless heart
And someone else has taken your place and you have taken someone else’s and you are not the only one
And someone else has taken my place and I have taken someone else’s and I have only just begun
And higher and higher and now I see
Looking down on everyone and me
And all this soul and I learn to start again
When all I want is to fill this emptiness

Idle Thought
04:36
|
|||
I can’t wait until now
So long ago decided
It’s deafening yet so loud
One but still divided
And if part of your soul knew the reason for this
And if I was just like you
As your spirit holds on to the things that you miss
Would you still tell me what I should do
And you’re forever alone to forever resist
And the strangest things are true
And some things you just know
A lonely audience
Waiting for this film to end
Through this awkward silence
The meaning’s surly spoken
And if part of your soul knew the reason for this
And if I was just like you
As your spirit holds on to the things that you miss
Would you still tell me what I should do
And you’re forever alone to forever resist
And the strangest things are true
And some things you just know

The Message
05:14
|
|||
There’s a person you will meet
With a message from your past
And this lesson you can keep
That one day will be your last
In this world of give and take
You must never take too much
And the time that seals your fate
Is the time that brings you love
And there’s a girl who’s bitter sweet
In her tower made of stone
And the hero’s fast asleep
And you wish you might have known
That the time it takes to laugh
Is the time it takes to cry
For the things you might have had
For the ones who’ve said goodbye
And If you listen hard enough
You can hear the devil weep
From the times that you’ve found love
And the promises you keep
In this world of give and talk
You must never take too much
And the time that seals your fate
Is the time that brings you love

When you know it’s untrue but you won’t speak up
When you’ve got one more chance but you just gave up
When you hold back the fear and it’s warning you
Would you believe a sign if it came to you
Gotta be a man of faith
Gotta be a man of love
Gotta be a man that’s great
You gotta be a man boy
When you rattle your brain for a decent thought
When you know you should change but your minds made up
When you follow the rules of a chosen few
Will you still go along when they turn on you
Gotta be a man of faith
Gotta be a man of love
Gotta be a man that’s great
You gotta be a man boy
Gotta be a man of war
Gotta be a man they’ll hate
You gotta be a man boy
Tell me what will you say when you finally know
Try to push it away but you can’t let go
Would you take it all back if you thought you could
Would you still want a war when it’s your own blood?
Gotta be a man of faith
Gotta be a man of love
Gotta be a man that’s great
You gotta be a man boy
Gotta be a man of war
Gotta be a man they’ll hate
You gotta be a man boy

The Matriarch
03:27
|
|||
There’s always a reason to go out now
Everything’s new in the world somehow
I have awoken a brand new man
Into the world I begin again
Hey mama can you hear me now
All that you told me came true some how
Love only dances to certain songs
Your heart only knows when you’re right from wrong
I know that your story was told too soon
To become the rain and the sun and the moon
Hey Mama
And all your life by the ocean sun
Where’s the time when you’ve just begun
When all of my rainbows and fallen stars
Have lead to this place where you are

Perfect World
05:33
|
|||
Who am I to say
That without your illusion the world is a better place
That without your integrity politics never change
In a perfect world there's no one
Who am I to know
That within your intention a desire you can't let go
It’s the manipulation of everything we know
In a perfect world there's no one
And it's not my fault
When there's always someone else to blame
So why are our lives torn apart
When all of our Gods are the same
And your ignorance is blinded by arrogance
From the lines you have drawn that have made you this way
And you swear that your intention is blind to an agenda
Though your ego wouldn’t have it any other way
Are you justified, in this perfect world
But it’s not your fault
When there’s always someone else to blame
So you lie but that’s not who you are
And still all of our lives are the same
Don’t you wish this life could change
It's inevitable; we never will want to change
And it’s all our fault
And there is no one else here to blame
And this world, that we have torn apart
Is the world that we love just the same
Is there no time left to change
Some will say that time is like a wheel
