What we don’t know Is that time can stand still And that restless men wait patiently As the violence unfolds And good people mean well And the choice is in our memory
And the blood will flow back in our veins We can redesign life’s destiny Though people first refuse to change It’s just those fools and their machines Making radio waves
And what we don’t know Is that luck first started When a gambling man refuse to play And the smartest thief said If you want more money That the greatest scam is honesty
And the blood will flow back in our veins We can redesign life’s destiny Though people first refuse to change Just the fools and their machines Making radio waves
And what we don’t know Is that the universe ends In a galaxy six feet away And through all the ages Till the great perfection For every mistake we’ve ever made

The mystery of all that’s good when every life’s a part to play I guess that I misunderstood I thought that I could be myself some day now that I can see threw the vial now that I can see you
And now where all these houses stood are all these buildings lined like graves to build a future half as good and there are things I dare not say to you now that I can see through these walls now that I can see through
And the spirits told me when I was a child to be open to the strange and the unknown - And to live my life with the grace of a child for a reason with the faith of an angel - And if I am ever to lose my way interfering with the lives of the future - To know that the truth will be told either way for a reason in the form of an answer
The mystery of all that’s good when every life’s a part to play I guess that I misunderstood I thought that I could be myself some day now that I can see you

My Selfish Altruism

Well everything you hate about me you know you’ll find it in yourself I had to learn this all the hard way I had to learn from someone else and all the others you know they’re not like that you’d like to think you’re generous the truth be known you want it back Well I swear I’m not like that
I believe in honesty and love forever before the end that love will bring us all together
I’ll justify it with an answer If you swear you’ll never tell for every time you say I lied I told the truth to someone else and all the others you know they’re not like that I live alone inside the mind my selfishness is still intact And I swear I’m not like that
I believe in honesty and love forever And before the end that love will bring us all together
Well everything I hate about you you know I found it in myself I had to learn this all the hard way I had to learn from someone else and all the others you know I’m not like that I’d like to think I’m generous the truth be known I want it back

All the lullabies never called my name
And worry never solved, never solved anything
And the heart of any lie is when it’s spoken
And the truth of any lie, is when it’s someday learned from
So I lie till I believe
I’m the only one who’s jealous
Of the riches that were stole from me
And everybody dies
Am I the only one that’s nervous
Of the life their going to bleed from me
And all the stories told never showed me the way
And I never once was wrong, I never once was afraid
And the heart of any lie is when it’s spoken
The truth of any lie is when it’s someday learned from
So I lie till I believe
I’m the only one who’s honest
about the truth I’ve yet to face in me
And everybody dies
Am I the only one who’s nervous
Because nothing’s going to save me
Well I must of played a victim to the world
I’ve justified it all so many times before
As the mind will think it’s best to take control
though the master is my soul
